SOPHIE MILLER

WRITER, DIRECTOR

Sophie Miller is a screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles but has been obsessed with telling stories set in Texas since her first day at UT Austin. She’s got a knack for creating the perfect playlist, and a love for creating nuanced, contemporary female characters that value their friendships over everything. Sophie has worked behind the scenes in Late Night in New York, before hopping across the country to work in writers rooms on multiple series for Disney+.

CHRIS LUNER

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
PRODUCER

Chris Luner is thrilled to step into the world of film with the Ranch Water team! Originally from Upper Darby, PA, Chris is a New York City based Production Manager who works on Broadway & Off-Broadway productions. His favorite productions include Ivo Van Hove’s West Side Story, Pretty Woman the Musical, Indecent, Becoming Nancy, The Unsinkable Molly Brown and A Commercial Jingle For Regina Comet. Chris is the Artistic Director of Upper Darby Summer Stage.

MITCH COHEN

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Mitch Cohen grew up in Chicago, graduated with a film degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and started Big Dipper Films, his own video production company. Mitch loved returning to the south to capture the beauty of rural Texas.

TRISTAN HORAN

EDITOR

Tristan Horan is a television and radio producer based in the city of brotherly love. Having followed Ranch Water through production, he enjoyed being passed the baton to continue telling this story in post. He’s never been to Texas but loved seeing some scenery on screen different from the view of his apartment!

RODRIGUEZ-BEHAR

MUSIC SUPERVISOR

Livy Rodriguez-Behar was born and raised in Austin, TX and always had a strong passion for music & film. That passion led her to attend a performing arts high school and graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Music Business. She loves movies with incredible soundtracks and currently spends her days working at Dreamboat Music - a company she founded to music supervise the kind of films she loves to watch.

JOEY SPERBER

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY, GRIP

Joey Sperber grew up in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University to study film production. Since then he has worked on various productions ranging from short films, commercials, and music videos.

CHI LEE

SOUND EDITOR, ASSISTANT EDITOR

Born and raised in Seattle, Chi Lee played guitar and eventually started his own “experimental pop” band. Looking to tighten their recordings, Chi moved to New York City to attend the Institute of Audio Research and developed a passion for post-production. After winning an award for Best Sound Design, he deferred his rockstar dream to work alone in front of a computer as an audio engineer, mixer and video editor.

TARA KING

KEY GRIP

Tara King is originally from New Jersey but spent half of her childhood near Houston, Texas before going back up North to attend New York University to study stage management. Tara has mainly worked in theatre, including regional and Off-Broadway shows, and loved using those skills in the film industry for Ranch Water.

Megan Dettmer has spent the past few years working in General and Company Management on various Broadway and Off-Broadway productions in NYC including Indecent and Fleabag. She also works as a freelance technician.

BEN GASPIN

BOOM OPERATOR

Ben Gaspin is a recent graduate of Tufts University. He has worked in late night and national politics, as well as performed stand up comedy in LA, New York, Boston, and Dublin. He has spent quarantine writing, watching movies, and trying to stave off existential dread.

COOPER GORDON

GRIP, SET PHOTOGRAPHER

Cooper Gordon is a Property Manager working in NYC, but in his down time he loves to explore his passion for photography. He has had the privilege of taking production stills for a few NYU Tisch theater productions, and has also had the great pleasure of being the set photographer for a few films including Wellwood (Studio ADI) and Possessive (Nick Assunto Productions).

Reed Elenz recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a major in Media Strategies. He is the founder and CEO of Honkenbonkers, LLC and thinks Ranch Water perfectly captures the essence of honkenbonkers!
